Step 1

Open Outlook 2016, click File.




Step 2

Click Account Settings or (Add Account, skipping Step 3)



Step 3

A new window would have now appeared. Select New in order to create a new account


You can also use this Account Settings window to Repair or Change settings and information of an existing account when troubleshooting email problems.



Step 4

  1. Select Manual setup or additional server types
  2. Press Next.




Step 5

  1. Select POP or IMAP account type. We will be setting up an IMAP type of account
  2. Click Next and continue on to Step 6.




Step 6

  1. Fill out your User Information by entering Your name or Account name and your full email address account@domain.com.au NOTE: that recipients will see Your name as the sender of an email.
  2. Select your Account Type, we are using an IMAP account type.
  3. Add your MyWork mail server (see below)
  4. Enter your User Name and Password
  5. Click More Settings and continue to the next step 



Your mail server will be mail4.mywork.com.au or mail5.mywork.com.au


You should have received an email from MyWork when creating this account; informing you of your email address, password and mail server credentials.


If you do not have this information, please create a ticket via the MyWork Helpdesk



Step 7

Once you have opened the More Settings window, you will need to:

  1. Click on the Outgoing Server tab
  2. Enable authentication for your outgoing server (SMTP)
    • Use the same User Name/Password credentials as your incoming server in Step 6. This allows the same details to be used for your outgoing email
  3. Click on the advanced tab and move on to Step 8



Step 8

  1. Incoming server (IMAP):
    • IMAP Port: 993
    • Encryption type: SSL
  2. Outgoing server (SMTP):
    • SMTP Port: 465
    • Encryption type: SSL
  3. Click OK and move on to the next step



Step 9

Outlook will test your account information and credentials.

Finish the account set up and press F9 to start synchronising emails on your account to your new Outlook account!
