The main usage of Settings is to:

  • Change your Contact Details
  • Put your shop into Maintanance Mode (close your shop temporarily)

You can also alter the settings of various parts of your Online Shop. However, most of these settings will probably never require changing as they have been setup per your initial requests.

To change your settings:

  1. Login to your admin system                                     
  2. Go to System > Settings  

      



Click Edit next to your store name.





Settings are available in a number of tabs accross the top of the page. 

A list of settings available in each location can be found below.  





General

Settings found under General include all of the contact details shown on your contact page.
Note: These fields can be renamed, however adding new fields requires custom coding and is not included in our packages.


The name of your Online Shop


The Owner's name


The Shops Address


Contact Email
Note: This email address is used for all correspondence from the shop. Orders and enquiries are sent to this email


Contact Phone Number


Fax Number (Optional)


 

Store

Settings found under General include all of the contact details shown on your contact page.

Meta Tag Description
The description that will appear on Google searches

Local

Location details, currency and length and weight classes are defined under Local.

Option

Various shop options are listed here, including invoice numbers, price settings, and default settings for products.

This tab allows you to change the default images sizes on your shop, add your store logo and a favicon.

Mail

These settings relate to how the shop send out any emails.

Server


Settings found under Server are advanced settings relating to your shops place on our servers.

We recommend you only touch these settings:

  •   Maintenance Mode
  •   Google Analytics
  •   Google Webmaster Tools




An SSL is required for some payment methods, changes to this setting will notenable an SSL as they must be installed manually. The MyWork Team will discuss this with you if you require an SSL.


This enables SEO Friendly URLS which helps your website rank on Google, do not turn off.


If you would like to "Close" your store for a short period of time you can enable maintenance mode. Please contact the MyWork Team to change the message display to your customers.


This is the password to encrypt your customers private files, changing this is not recommended.


This is the compression level of information sent from your store, changing this is not recommended.


This assists the MyWork Team to debug any issues within your website, do not turn off.


This allows the MyWork Team to debug any issues within your website, do not turn off.


 To set up Google Analytics
Login to your Google Analytics account and after creating your web site profile copy and paste the analytics code into this field


To set up Google Webmaster Tools
  •   Login to your Google Webmaster Tools.
  •   Click the ADD A SITE button
    Proceed through the various steps until you get to the Verify Site section.
  •   Choose the Alternate Methods tab.
  •   Click on "Add a meta tag to your site's home page".
  •   Copy the meta tag.
  •   Paste this text into field below. This will insert the full meta tag into your site.
  •   Go back to Google and click the Verify button at the bottom
